DOG GROOMING TREATMENTS

At Tony & Dog, we offer many services, for example: baths, tidy ups, first puppy grooms, scissor-only cuts, clipping, de-shedding, hand stripping and personal consultations. At Tony & Dog we do not use cabinet dryers. We dry each client by hand, this way avoiding unnecessary stress for the dog. As well as bringing out all of your dog’s beauty we also include a range of extra services including: nail cutting and grinding, ear cleaning, sanitary trims (genital area), paws trimming, and when necessary and ears cleaning.

STRIPPING

Wire-haired dogs have various layers of fur. A young layer yet to mature, and another matured layer.

Dogs with this type of fur were created to be in the mountains and to hunt. This fur type protected their skin from plants and rocks etc. When they brushed against these things, the different layers of fur would change naturally. However, as we have now ‘converted’ them into domestic dogs or pets, we must help them with this gradual change of fur.

The stripping technique consists of removing the mature layer of fur in order for the short layer to be free to grow, since all fur grows from the same pore.

This removal technique maintains the natural colour tone and texture of the fur.

At Tony & Dog we trust the best brands. We use the appropriate shampoo for your pet’s fur coat and skin condition. We offer a wide range of shampoos, including: Earth Bath, Chris Christensen, Artero Cosmetics, Iv San Bernard, Pure Paws, amongst others. If we use the best brands for ourselves, then why not for your four-legged best friend?

SPECIALISED PRODUCTS

At Tony & Dog, our clients can access specialised products to keep their dog’s fur coat in good condition. For example, shampoo, slicker brushes, combs, nail clippers, de-matters, ear cleaners, perfumes, etc.

• Styling of the dog following breed standards or following owner requests.
• Blow dry.
